FOUNDERS SUBCOMMITTEE MEETING

The meeting of the Founders Subcommittee was called to order at 9 a.m.

Committee members discussed proposed wording for the plaque and directed
the City Clerk to provide members with the following two versions of suggested wording:
THIS PARK IS DEDICATED TO THE FOUNDERS OF THE CITY OF AVENTURA
WHO CONTRIBUTED THEIR MINDS, HEARTS AND TIME TOWARD ITS
INCORPORATION ON NOVEMBER 7, 1995. (List of incorporators to follow, with
officers of Aventura Biscayne Committee for Incorporation listed first, then others to
follow alphabetically)
DEDICATED TO THE FOUNDERS OF THE CITY OF AVENTURA WHO
CONTRIBUTED THEIR MINDS, HEARTS AND TIME TOWARD ITS INCORPORATION
ON NOVEMBER 7,1995.
Mr. Sherman provided members with a diagram of the monument as prepared by
Landscape Architect Bill O'Leary. Members suggested that the monument height be
increased by one foot. Members requested that Mr. O'Leary provide further drawings
changing the size for their consideration.
Mr. Sherman provided a preliminary budget for the Recognition Dinner with three
alternatives. A motion was offered by Mr Gustin, seconded by Mr. Grossman and
unanimously passed that Staff proceed with Alternate "C". After review and discussion,
members approved the Sponsorship Packages as outlined by Mr. Sherman.
It was the consensus of the Committee that Staff contact the following individuals
to emcee the event:

The next meeting scheduled for Thursday, June 4, 1998 at 9 a.m.
