RE: City of Aventura Community Services Department
ERIC M. SOROKA
CITY MANAGER
To Whom It May Concern:
The City of Aventura Government started providing services in June 1996. Since that time,
the Community Services Department has offered a comprehensive recreation and cultural
program consisting of special events, holiday celebrations, festivals, commemorative
functions, and recreation programs geared toward the needs of the residents. Over 45,000
residents and visitors have participated in the programs and activities offered by the
Community Services Department.
The Recreation and Cultural Advisory Board, which consists of seven members appointed
by the City Commission, is advised of and involved in the development of all activities. The
Board offers their ideas and advice in the planning and evaluation process in order to
provide the highest level of service possible to the residents. The Community Services
Department strives to achieve the ideas, goals and visions of the City Commission by
providing exciting and worthwhile programs that will attract new participants to their
programs.
It is with great pride that I recommend the Aventura Community Services Department be
considered for the Agency Excellence Award.
Sincerely,
Janet Laine, Chairman
Aventura Recreation and Advisory Board
