I. Call to Order. The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Patricia Frank.

II. Approval of Minutes: A motion to approve the minutes of the October 8, 2003
Rotating Art Sub-Committee and October 9, 2003 meetings was offered by Ms.
Nesbitt, and seconded by Mr. Joel. The motion passed unanimously.
III. Chairperson's Report: None.
Mr. Soroka updated the Board on beautification improvement projects within the City.
Mr. Sherman updated the Board on the following: Teacher Planning Day, Halloween
Event, Veteran's Day Ceremony, use of Recreation Center, Flag Football, Kids Fitness
Program, Shuttle Bus ridership and the following upcoming events: Founders Day,
Community/Recreation Center Open House, Tropical Winter Wonderland and
Trips/Tours.
VII. Old Business: None.
V. New Business: A motion to cancel the December meeting was offered by Mr.
Joel, seconded by Mr. Orenstein and unanimously passed. The next meeting
was scheduled for January 8,2004 at 3 p.m.
VIII. Adiournment. There being no further business to come before the Board, the
meeting was adjourned at 3:30 p.m.

consideration. All entries must be postmarked by 5:00 p.m. on February 20, 2004 to be eligible. All
entries shall be addressed to: Beautification Recognition Awards Program, Aventura Government
Center, 19200 West Country Club Drive, Aventura, FL 33180; and must be accompanied by a narrative
(100 words max.) explaining the details ofthe applicants beautification efforts, Including photos If
desired, and signed by the applicant Property Category MUST be checked or the application will be
returned without consideration. Properties may enter a maximum of two categories. Awards will be
presented on Friday April 30, 2004 at the City's Arbor Day Ceremony.
The .Property of Excellence Beautification Recognition Award for 2003. will generally be awarded to one
property in each category. From time to time, the judges may award more than one winner in each category, at
their sole discretion. The decision of the judges will be final and are based on the following criteria:
1. Creativity.
2. Integration of landscape with natural features.
3. Establishment of a landscape theme.
4. Appropriateness of landscape material.
5. Maintenance and upkeep. general cleanliness.
6. Use of colors and textures in landscape.
-Applicant agrees to permit judging panels to enter their property for appraisal purposes and agrees to

the A ventura Community Recreation Center seven days per week from 8 AM until closing.
