2000-021 RESOLUTION NO. 2000-21 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF AVENTURA, FLORIDA, DECLARING CERTAIN PROPERTY LISTED UNDER THE ASSETS OF THE CITY AS SURPLUS TO THE NEEDS OF THE CITY OF AVENTURA; DESCRIBING THE MANNER OF DISPOSAL; AUTHORIZING CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO CARRY OUT THE AIMS OF THIS RESOLUTION; AND PROVIDING FOR EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Manager desires to declare certain property as surplus to the needs of the City; and WHEREAS, City Code requires that all City-owned property that has been declared surplus cannot be disposed of prior to the preparation and formal approval of a Resolution by the City Commission. NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF AVENTURA, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Recitals Adopted. That the above recitals are hereby confirmed and adopted herein. Section 2. The property listed on Exhibit "A" has been declared surplus and is hereby approved for disposal. Section 3. The City Manager is authorized to sell the property listed on Exhibit "A" (K-9 Dog) to its handler for $1.00. Section 4. The City Manager is authorized to do all things necessary to carry out the aims of this Resolution. Section 5. Effective Date. That this Resolution shall become effective on April 5, 2000. Soroka, City~a~aljer\ FROM: Tom Ribel, Chief of DATE: March 31, 2000 SUBJECT: Surplus Property K-9 "Jax" has developed a medical condition and he is no longer suitable for police work. I would like to have him declared surplus property. Officer O. Garcia was "Jax" handier and trainer and he has indicated a desire to keep the dog and provide him with a good home. I recommend that ownership of the dog be transferred to Officer Garcia.
