97-29 ORDINANCE NO. 97-29
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF AVENTURA, FLORIDA
REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 96-33 WHICH PROVIDED
FOR THE CREATION OF THE CITY OF AVENTURA
PLANNING ADVISORY BOARD; PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 96-33 provided for the creation of the City of Aventura
Planning Advisory Board; and
WHEREAS, this Council has determined it to be in the best interest of the City of
Aventura to repeal Ordinance No. 96-33 and to assume all powers and duties previously
assigned to the Planning Advisory Board pursuant to Ordinance No. 96-33.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF AVENTURA, FLORIDA THAT:
Section 1. Repeal. Ordinance No. 96-33 which provided for the creation of the City
of Aventura Planning Advisory Board (the "Board") is hereby repealed in its entirety and all
duties assigned to the jurisdiction of the Board pursuant to said Ordinance No. 96-33 shall
be assumed by the City Council.
Section 2. ~. The provisions of this Ordinance are declared to be
severable and if any section, sentence, clause or phrase of this Ordinance shall for any
reason be held to be invalid or unconstitutional, such decision shall not affect the
validity of the remaining sections, sentences, clauses, and phrases of this Ordinance
but they shall remain in effect, it being the legislative intent that this Ordinance shall
stand notwithstanding the invalidity of any part,

Section 3. Effective Date. This Ordinance shall be effective immediately upon
adoption on second reading.
The foregoing Ordinance was offered by Councilmember Rogers-Libert, who
moved its adoption on first reading. This motion was seconded by Councilmember
Berger, and upon being put to a vote, the vote was as follows:
