MINUTES
CITY COMMISSION WORKSHOP MEETING
TUESDAY, APRIL 20, 1999 10:20 A.M.
Aventura Government Center

The meeting was called to order at 10:20 a.m. by Mayor Arthur I. Snyder. Present were
Commissioners Arthur Berger, Jay R. Beskin, Ken Cohen, Harry, Holzberg, Jeffrey M.
Perlow, Mayor Snyder, City Manager Eric M. Soroka, City Clerk Teresa M. Soroka, and
City Attorneys David M. Wolpin and Jeffrey Sheffel. Vice Mayor Patricia Rogers-Libert
wes absent due to illness. As a quorum was determined to be present, the meeting
commenced.
1. Cultural Arts Center: Mr. Soroka provided Commissioners with proposed action
plans for the construction of a Cultural Arts Center. Consensus to proceed with
Alternative #1.
2. Land Development Re.qulations: Mr. Soroka gave a brief overview of the
proposed land development regulations and provided a tentative schedule for
adoption. Workshop meeting scheduled for May 4, 1999 at 4 p.m. Staff to meet
with representatives of the development community to obtain their input prior to the
May 4th Workshop.
3. Council of Mayors (Mayor Snyder): Mayor Snyder advised the Commission of the
formation of this organization, its purpose, current agenda and requested
Commission's input as to membership therein. No consensus given. Mayor to
report further at future meeting.
4. Other Business: Commission discussed personal contribution as gift to City
Manager.
The meeting adjourned at 12 noon.
