ADVISORY BOARD MEETING

Call to Order. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Janet Laine at
10:00 a.m. Community Services Director Robert M. Sherman called the roll.
Members present:

Others present: Robert M. Sherman, Director of Community Services
Approval of Minutes: After motion made by Mr. Kanowitz, seconded by Ms.
Brighton and unanimously passed, the minutes of the March 26, 2001 meeting
were approved.
Chairman's Report: Waived.
Staff Report: Mr. Sherman discussed summary of attendance at various
activities offered by the City during the past 2 years, including approximately
60,000 at special events; 90,000 visitors to the Park, 1,400 involved in youth
programs, 3,000 participating in trips/tours for a total over past 2 years of
approximately 162,000.
Mr. Sherman reviewed upcoming trips and tours. A motion for approval was
offered by Ms. Crook, seconded by Mr. Kanowitz and unanimously passed.
Mr. Sherman discussed proposed Summer Program for youth. A motion for
approval was offered by Mr. Gustin, seconded by Ms. Crook and unanimously
passed.
Mr. Sherman advised the Board of the activities scheduled for Fourth of July
celebration.
Board members discussed the proposed Community Center and its uses.
IV. Other Business: None.
The next meeting is scheduled for Monday, May 21,2001 at 10 a.m. Ms. Brighton
noted that she would be unable to attend any meetings in June, July and August.
There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting
adjourned.
