the 2001 session:
NE 30 Avenue Draina.qe Improvement Project
The City of Aventura is requesting assistance in the amount of $1,000,000 to
implement necessary stormwater drainage improvements in the subject area. This
funding would go towards the removal of existing inferior drainage systems and the
installation of a new system that meets State and County standards for surface water
quality and stormwater collection. This is a continuation of the stormwater
improvement component of the City's 5-year Capital ImprovementsProgram, which
received State funding last year. It is also a vital component of the City's Stormwater
Master Plan.
Procurement of Emer.qency Hydraulic Pumps and Generator
The City of Aventura is requesting assistance in the amount of $38,816.20. This
funding will allow the City to procure portable hydraulic pumps and electric generators
for use in hazard mitigation and emergency operations. Currently, the City does not
own any such equipment. After the October 3rd flood event, we realize the importance
of having such equipment in our possession.
Drainaqe Studies and Implementation Plans for Flood Prone Districts
The City of Aventura is requesting assistance in the amount of $80,000. This funding
will allow the City to hire consultants to conduct drainage studies and provide an
implementation plan to resolve flooding and water quality issues in the Biscayne Lake
Gardens and Aventura Hospital Districts. This is a continuation of the stormwater
improvement component of the City's 5-year Capital Improvement Program, which
received State funding last year. It is also a vital component of the City's Stormwater
Master Plan.
Emerqenc¥ Operations Center at Aventura Government Center
The City of Aventura is requesting assistance in the amount of $100,000 to develop an
Emergency Operations Center in the new Aventura Government Center. This funding
