COMMUNITY SERVICES ADVISORY BOARD MEETING MINUTES
APRIL 3, 2025
3:00 P.M.

I. Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at 3:00 p.m. by Mr. Naim. The
following members were present:
Bruce Davidson
Sandra Kaplan
Donna Mairs
Daniel Naim
Marjorie Rosenblatt
Absent: Jesse Potack
Sherry Superfine
Others present: Bryan Pegues, City Manager
Ellisa L. Horvath, MMC, City Clerk
Kimberly Merchant, Community Services Director
II. Public Comment: None.
Ill. Approval of Minutes: A motion to approve the minutes of the January 30, 2025
meeting was offered by Ms. Kaplan, seconded by Ms. Rosenblatt, and unanimously
passed.
IV. Staff Reports:
• Review of Upcoming Events: Ms. Merchant provided a review of the upcoming
special events including Volunteer Dinner (April 9), Arbor Day Ceremony (April 25),
Double Feature Movie Night (April 26), Community Recreation Center (CRC) Toddler
Showcase (May 21), and CRC Showcase (May 22).
• Review of Upcoming Porn -Up Events: Ms. Merchant provided a review of the
upcoming pop-up events including National Ice Cream Day (July 20) and National Senior
Citizens Day (August 21).
City of Aventura Community Services Advisory Board Meeting Minutes
April 3, 2025
Ms. Merchant distributed and reviewed give-away item suggestions for the National
Senior Citizens Day. The Board discussed the items as well as coordinating the
iocations/times for the event.
A motion to approve the hot/cold packs and pill box/cutter as give-away items for the
National Senior Citizens Day event was offered by Ms. Mairs, seconded by Ms.
Rosenblatt, and unanimously passed.
• Approval of Go Green Awards: Ms. Merchant reviewed the following nine 2025
Go Green Applicants received: Artech Residences at Aventura, Bellini Condominium,
One Island Place, Point East Four Condominium Corporation Inc., Porto Vita Property
Owner's Association, Prive at Island Estates, South Tower at the Point, The Landmark
Club Condominium, and Marina Tower of Turnberry.
A motion to approve the Go Green Awards for the nine applicants received was offered
by Ms. Rosenblatt, seconded by Mr. Davidson, and unanimously passed.
V. Discussion of Next Meeting Date: It was the consensus of the Board that the
next meeting be scheduled for Thursday, September 25, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. in the
Executive Conference Room of the Aventura Government Center.
Ms_ Horvath reported on the upcoming term expiration for the current Board members.
All those members in attendance expressed interest in serving on the Board again.
VI. Adjournment: There being no further business to come before the Board, a
motion to adjourn was offered by Ms. Rosenblatt, seconded by Ms. Mairs, and
unanimously passed; thereby adjourning the meeting at 3:17 p.m.
