AVENTURA CITY OF EXCELLENCE SCHOOL (ACES) AND THE DON SOFFER AVENTURA HIGH
SCHOOL (DSAHS):
1. CALL TO ORDER/ROLL CALL
The meeting was called to order at 9:04 a.m.
2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
The Pledge was led by Mayor Weinberg.
3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: June 12, 2025 Regular Meeting
Action Taken: Approved
4. SCHOOL UPDATES:
• Aventura City of Excellence School (ACES): Provided by Principal Dr. Beck
• Don Soffer Aventura High School (DSAHS): Provided by Principal Dr. McKee
5. APPROVAL OF THE 2025-26 CSUSA K-12 READING PLAN FOR ACES AND
DSAHS
Action Taken: Approved
6. APPROVAL OF THE 2025-2026 CSUSA INTERNET ACCEPTABLE USE AND
SAFETY POLICY FOR ACES AND DSAHS
Action Taken: Approved
7. APPROVAL OF THE REAPPOINTMENT OF THE ACES PARENT
FACILITATOR/CONFLICT RESOLUTION OFFICER AND THE DSAHS PARENT
FACILITATOR/CONFLICT RESOLUTION OFFICER FOR 2025-2026
Action Taken: Approved — Bryan Pegues was reappointed as the ACES Parent
Facilitator/Conflict Resolution Officer and Kimberly Merchant was reappointed as
the DSAHS Parent Facilitator/Conflict Resolution Officer.
8. APPROVAL OF ACES CHARTER ENROLLMENT AMENDMENT
Action Taken: Approved —Amendment to Increase Enrollment to 1,232 students
