December 20, 2022 Aventura City Commission Ethics Training Session Minutes � GG AVENTURA CITY COMMISSION ETHICS TRAINING SESSION MINUTES DECEMBER 20, 2022 10:00 A.M. An ethics training session for members of the City of Aventura Commission, pursuant to the requirements of Chapter 112.3142, Florida Statutes, was held on December 20, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. via virtual communications media technology and in the 5th Floor Executive Conference Room at the Aventura Government Center (19200 W. Country Club Drive, Aventura, FL). The following members of the Commission were in attendance: Commissioner Amit Bloom, Commissioner Paul A. Kruss, and Commissioner Michael Stern. Also present were City Clerk Ellisa L. Horvath and City Attorney Robert Meyers. Mr. Meyers reviewed a presentation titled "Review of State and Local Ethics Laws: Aventura," dated December 20, 2022, including but not limited to the following items: Voting Conflicts — FS 112.3143, Voting Conflicts: Gain or Loss, Voting Conflicts: FS 286.012, Voting Conflicts: Other Considerations, Voting Conflicts: Process, Fact Patterns: Voting Conflicts, Disproportionate Benefits: Article II, Section 8(g)(2), Misuse of Position: FS 112, 313(6), Fact Patterns: Misuse of Position?, Doing Business with Agency: FS 112.313(3), Disclosure/Use of Information: FS 112.313(8), State Gifts: FS 112.3148, 112.313(2), Exceptions to Gift Rules, Gift Considerations, Fact Patterns: Gifts, Citizens Bill of Rights, Ethics Enforcement, Sunshine Law, and Public Records. Commissioner Bloom, Commissioner Kruss, and Commissioner Stern engaged in discussions with Mr. Meyers throughout the session, based on the material covered.
