Wasson, City Manager FROM: Michael Bentolila, Chief of Police A/5 159 DATE: September 61h, 2022 SUBJECT: Use of Federal Forfeiture Funds The Federal Equitable Sharing Agreement (FESA), Section VIII allows for the use of federally forfeited funds for law enforcement. Section IX, A9 of the Federal Equitable Sharing agreement requires that the funds be expended only upon request of the Chief of Police to the governing body of the municipality and approval of the governing body. I am requesting approval for the expenditure of these monies to purchase: Smart Force Smart Comms Plus Module $16,000.00 Summary Smart Comms Plus — is a real-time software solution that enhances the ability of officers in the field to disseminate and search for important information related to criminal activity and active investigations.
