meeting minutes was offered by Ms. Freitas, seconded by Mr. Bazak, and unanimously

3. Discussion of Participation in City Events and Meetings: Ms. Horvath reported
on the highlights of the April 51h City Commission Meeting, including the ceremony for the
oath of office provided to newly elected Commissioner Billy Joel. Ms. Wesley and Ms.
Shein were thanked for their assistance with the distribution of goody bags following the
ceremony. Mr. Wasson and Mr. Bazak discussed additional items from the meeting.
Members were reminded about the upcoming fishing trip with Miami-Dade County
Commissioner Sally Heyman, scheduled for April 11th, which the City Manager would also
be attending.
4. Discussion of"Aventura Strong" Project: Board members provided updates on
the items worked on since the last meeting, including social media and networking.
Following review and discussion of the update provided regarding the Krop art/graphic
teacher (Mr. Rosenthal) for the production of cards for the project, it was the consensus
of the Board to use the color purple on white cards, to be distributed with the strength
stones. The City Manager will contact Mr. Rosenthal to confirm the items discussed by
the Board.
The Board continued discussions on the "Rebuild, Reignite, Reconnect" slogan for the
project and the associated content for social media.
Mr. Combrinck will review all items before they are posted by the Board members.
Mr. Pegues reported on the next CSAB pop-up event that wouldn't be scheduled until
July. He also provided the strength stones and bags that had been ordered, which were
then viewed and discussed by the Board.
Since there were no upcoming City events deemed to be appropriate to distribute the
stones at, the Board discussed other options. It was the consensus of the Board to
schedule a health walk on May 22nd to begin at Aventura Government Center and around
the Don Soffer Exercise Trail and back to Government Center, with the distribution of the
strength stones at the completion of the walk.
The Board discussed providing a presentation on the project at the May 12th City
Commission Meeting.
It was the consensus of the Board to divide responsibilities focused on the presentation
for the May 12th Commission Meeting (6:00 p.m.) and the May 22nd Health Walk (9-11
a.m.).
Goals for the next meeting were discussed based on the following two groups:
Commission Meeting Presentation Group and Healthy Walk Tour Group. Mr. Combrinck
