YOUTH ADVISORY BOARD MEETING MINUTES
MAY 24, 2021

The meeting was held in the Commission Chamber at the Aventura Government Center.
1. Call to Order/Roll Call: The meeting was called to order at 6:08 p.m. by the
Chairperson, Ms. Sartan. The following were present:

2. Approval of Minutes:
May 17, 2021 : A motion to approve the minutes of the May 17, 2021 meeting
was offered by Ms. Freitas, seconded by Ms. Stein, and unanimously passed.
3. Review of Presentation for Trader Joe's Project: Members of the Presentation
and Video Team reviewed the draft PowerPoint titled Trader Joe's Campaign: Aventura
Location.
Mayor Weisman provided brief comments.
The Board members provided input on the PowerPoint. Based on the review and
discussion by all members, the Presentation and Video Team will finalize the
presentation.
The Presentation and Video Team will provide the final presentation to Mrs. Horvath by
June 1 , 2021 in the morning, in preparation for the Commission Meeting.
Mrs. Horvath provided input on the format for the final presentation at the Commission
Meeting.
No public comments were provided.
4. Other Business: It was the consensus of the Board to meet on June 1 , 2021 at
5.00 p.m. in the Commission Chamber at Government Center to conduct a brief rehearsal
of the presentation format.
Mrs. Horvath reminded the members to submit their applications for the 2021-2022 Youth
Advisory Board, if they are interested in serving again. Applications are due by June 11 ,
2021 .
5. Adjournment: There being no further business to come before the Board, a
motion to adjourn the meeting was offered by Ms. Wesley, seconded by Ms. Baredes,
and unanimously passed; thus, adjourning the meeting at 7.00 p.m.
