CALL TO ORDER
Pursuant to public notice, the meeting commenced at 4:0p.m. with a Call to Order by Chair Michael
Yavner. Roll Call was taken, and quorum established.
ADMINISTRATIVE
Meeting Minutes Approval
• The Board reviewed the meeting minutes from the November 4, 2020 Don Soffer Aventura
High School Advisory Board ("DSAHSAB") meeting.
MOTION: Motion was made by Jorge Garcia and seconded by Nikki Shein to approve the DSAHSAB
November 4, 2020 Meeting minutes, as presented. Motion was approved unanimously. (5-0)
II. CSUSA REPORTS
Principal Report
• Principal McKnight reported out to the board that the school is back in session and reported
an increase in parents choosing online over in person due to a spike in COVID cases. Mr.
McKnight also reported out on Assessment testing and the Spring 2021 Education plan filed
with the state, as well as other school activities.

• The school leadership also participated in COGNIA (AdvanceEd/SACS) accreditation
interviews and phase 2 is rolling out this month.
III. FINANCE
IV. OLD BUSINESS
• Mr. Wasson updated the board on the projects of the playground, athletic field, and locker
room.
V. NEW BUSINESS
• The Board discussed a parking lot for students who can drive.
• The Board discussed the COVID vaccine and opportunities for teachers to be
considered "front liners" to have access to the vaccine. Mr. Garcia mentioned all the
school employees are front liners and should be included.
VI. PUBLIC COMMENTS
• There were no public comments.
VII. ADJOURMENT
MOTION: Motion made by Jorge Garcia and seconded by Nikki Shein to adjourn the Don Sofer
Aventura High School Advisory Board Meeting. Motion was approved unanimously.
