1. Call to Order/Roll Call: The meeting was called to order at 10:08 a.m. by Ms.
Simmons. The following members were present.

2. Approval of Minutes: A motion to approve the minutes of the April 18, 2017 and
February 15, 2018 meetings was offered by Ms. Bloom, seconded by Ms. Regev, and
unanimously passed.
Mrs. Grant reported that the new Board would be appointed at the May 1, 2018
Commission meeting.
3. Staff Reports:
Mr. Kiltie introduced the following people in attendance: Shelly Bradshaw - Vice
President of Operations (Broward Center for the Performing Arts), Maria Fulfaro -
Marketing & Sales Manager (Broward Center for the Performing Arts), Helen Downey &
Michelle McKay (DowneyMcKay Communications, Inc.), and Scott Miller - Event
Services Manager (Aventura Arts & Cultural Center).
Mr. Kiltie presented a PowerPoint reviewing the following items: Mission Statement, Our
Journey: An Overview, Where We Are Today: An Overview 2017-2018 Season, Season
8 Launch, Season 8 Overview by the Numbers, Season 8 Overview Average
Attendance by Genre, Partner Successes, and Enhancing Patron Experience. The
launch of the upcoming NSU Lifelong Learning Institute Lecture Series was discussed.
The Board discussed rental fees and increased rental activity.
Ms. McKay and Ms. Fulfaro presented the Season 8 Marketing & Public Relations
Overview, provided the 2017-2018 Arts Season Media Coverage Report (Pierson Grant
PR) reflecting media placements obtained or confirmed without the aid of a clipping
service, and reviewed the Season 8 Social Media Recap.

The Board discussed Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, testing hashtags, free advertorial
with the purchase of ads, insert magazine in newspaper (Bloomer Times), Aventura
Marketing Council and other community chambers, and Aventura Magazine.
Mr. Kiltie continued his presentation focused on the following items: Aventura Arts &
Cultural Center Sales Channels, Demographics, Ticket Click-Through Channels, Zip
Code Analysis, Arts Access Program, and Smart Stage Series.
The Board discussed Gold Star and other discounted ticketing services. Mr. Kiltie
reported that ACES was the biggest customer for the Smart Stage Series.
Mr. Kiltie finished his presentation with the following: Season 9 Programming and
Promoting AACC in the Community.
The Aventura Arts and Cultural Center 2018-2019 was distributed.
Board members will provide any database they have to include for email blasts.
Mr. Kiltie noted that October 2020 would mark the Center's 10-year anniversary.
4. Other Business: None.
5. Adjournment: There being no further business to come before the Board, the
meeting was adjourned by consensus at 11:05 a.m.

• Live up to the motto of Aventura and be the venue worthy of "City of Excellence".
1 Serve the entire community, offer diverse programming for all audiences.
1 Elevate the reputation of AACC both locally and nationally to build stronger audience and
renter base.
1 Increase awareness of the venue with targeted efforts to reach community, regional and
national audiences — including snowbirds and tourists and leverage Broward Center
database to help that effort.
/ Develop cross-promotional opportunities with Broward Center and other partners for
economies of scale spending.
1 Develop quality titles and programs in accordance with audience feedback and Advisroy
Board recommendations.
1 Create excellent experience for staff guests, volunteers, promoters and artists.

Partner Successes
We increased Co-Promotions with local artists and arts organizations:
1 Yamandu Costa with Brazilian Nites Productions
1 Mind Hacker with local mentalist Alan Chamo
1 "A Treasury of Christmas Jewish Songs" with Jake Ehrenreich Productions
1 "Hooray For Love", our Valentines Day show with Orlando based Side By Side Vocal Variety Duo .
1 Black Box Productions increased rental activity and expanded the comedy series to 8 performances
with bigger national names such as; Bruce Vilanch, Judy Gold and Dom Irrera and Spanish language
comedians Luis Chataing and Emilio Lovera. Added several concerts including The Long Run Eagles
Tribute and two sold-out concerts with Matisyahu.
1 "Menopause The Musical" performed for a full week run and sold over 2,100 tickets in October.
1 Miami International Piano Festival remains a strong partner with 6 classical concerts featuring pianists
from around the world. They partnered with The Victory Center to present 11-year old piano prodigy
Jacob Velazquez.

New Initiatives in 2018-2019
1 Introduced the new Speaker Series in conjunction with NSU Lifelong Learning Institute.
I Presented our first Sensory Friendly performance: "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown."
I Expanded Co-Promotion opportunities with minimal risk including Yamandu Costa, "Treasury of
Jewish Christmas Songs," "Mind Hacker" and more.
I Expanded multi-cultural and Spanish language programming to include Luis Chataing, Yamandu Costa,
Siudy Flamenco Intimo, and Golden Dragon Acrobats.
I Attracted more commercial renters and rental promoters — "Menopause the Musical," Bruce Vilanch,
Judy Gold and Matisyahu.
I Presented bigger named artists; Faith Prince, Melissa Manchester, Jeremy Jordan, Yakov Smirnoff.
I Expanded VIP Meet & Greet premium experience.

Season 9 Marketing Overview
/ Media — Each year we enhance our partnership with local media and expand our reach to
increase audience base. This season included; Biscayne Times and Culture Owl.
Our continued relationship with Broward Center allows AACC to leverage the media
buying power through their marketing department.
Social Media is now an integral part of the marketing mix and includes daily organic posts
and additional paid advertising to enhance show related marketing efforts.
1 AACC received press coverage averaging nearly one piece of coverage each day spanning
the tri-county area. This included season overviews, monthly highlights, feature stories,
in-depth interviews as well as regular inclusion in topical events calendars.
/ We offer marketing support to renters to increase their visibility.
