ETHICS TRAINING MINUTES

Following Commission/Workshop Meetings Aventura, Florida 33180
at 9:00 a.m.
Ethics training for the City of Aventura Commission Members, pursuant to the
requirements of Chapter 112.3142, Florida Statutes, was held on October 18, 2018 at
12:00 p.m. The following members of the Commission were in attendance: Mayor Enid
Weisman, Vice Mayor Gladys Mezrahi, Commissioner Denise Landman, Commissioner
Dr. Linda Marks, Commissioner Marc Narotsky, Commissioner Robert Shelley, and
Commissioner Howard Weinberg. Also present were City Clerk Ellisa L. Horvath and
City Attorney Robert Meyers.
Mr. Meyers reviewed a PowerPoint presentation titled "Ethics Training Required by
County Ordinance for Newly-Elected Officials," dated October 18, 2018. The following
items were highlighted: Citizens' Bill of Rights, MDC Commission on Ethics and Public
Trust, Sunshine Law, Public Records Law, Differences between State and Local Laws,
and Wrap-Up.
The training adjourned at 1:51 p.m.
