I. Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at 3:00 p.m. by Mr. Evans.

II. Public Comment: None.
Ill. Approval of Minutes — May 12, 2016: The minutes were amended on page 2
to clarify that Ms. Lotterman would provide the contact information for St. Stephen's. A
motion to approve the minutes of the May 12, 2016 meeting as amended was offered
by Ms. Aloni, seconded by Ms. Lotterman, and unanimously passed.
IV. Discussion and Input:
• N.E. 188th Street Park Naming Contest: Mr. Soroka distributed and reviewed
the suggested names for the Park, as provided by the student contest at ACES. It was
noted that the Park would be substantially completed October 20, 2016. After
discussion and consideration of the names, a motion to recommend consideration of
the following names was offered by Mr. Evans, seconded by Ms. Lotterman, and
unanimously approved: Eagles Park, Thunderboat Alley Park, and Peace Park.
• Founders Day 2016: Mr. Sherman requested input for Founders Day 2016,
scheduled for November 13th. The Board discussed various ways to alleviate long lines
at the zip line, which will be further explored by staff.
The following additional items were discussed:
Dr. Marks discussed the possibility of the City providing meditation classes and
provided contact information for Shelly Tygielski.
1 Ms. Kaplan participated via telephone.

The next meeting was scheduled for September 8, 2016 at 3:00 p.m.
V. Adjournment: There being no further business to come before the Board, a
motion to adjourn was offered by Ms. Aloni, seconded by Ms. Lotterman, and
unanimously passed; thereby adjourning the meeting at 3:22 p.m.

All activities are outdoors, suitable for all ages. Times and locations are subject to change.
Tented Activities
* Green Market Kick-Off
This year, the City will kick-off its seasonal Aventura Green Market at the Founders Day
event. Fruit and vegetable farmers and specialty food producers including but not
limited to bakers,juicers,jelly &jam makers, as well as oil &vinegar enthusiasts will be
vendors at the market.
* Toddler Town Activities
Sidewalk chalk and chalk wall, bubble stations, kinetic sand molds, interactive music and
dance for toddlers, a bounce house and balloon twisters that are all located in one
fenced in playground area.
* Science and Art Stations
"Make &Take" stations are designed to create your own project and take it with you.
Create your own slime at the science station. Canvas abstract art can be made with ink
droppers at the art station.
* Makeover Madness
Featuring the newest hair styles, glitter, glam, mohawks, spikes, pony tails or buns and
with a touch of your favorite colors and patterns of polka dots, chevrons, florals,
rainbows and more!
* Bingo
* Garden Club Exhibit
* Face Painting
* Airbrush Tattoos
* Time Out for Football
Watch all the football games broadcast on live network TV on the big screen HD N's

Patrons can take photos with cartoon characters, stilt walkers and jugglers throughout
the day.
* Backyard Activities& Games
Featuring DJ, Aventura bounce horse derby, giant Jenga challenge, giant connect 4,
checkers, tic-tac toe, dance contests, lawn games, hula hoops, tug-of-war, relay races,
parachute games and more!
* USTA Tennis
USTA Tennis will provide demonstrations and activities at the tennis courts.
