Resolution No. 2016-21 Declaring Surplus Property - April 5, 2016 RESOLUTION NO. 2016-21 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF AVENTURA, FLORIDA DECLARING CERTAIN PROPERTY LISTED UNDER THE ASSETS OF THE CITY AS SURPLUS TO THE NEEDS OF THE CITY; DESCRIBING THE MANNER OF DISPOSAL; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO CARRY OUT THE AIMS OF THIS RESOLUTION; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Manager desires to declare certain property as surplus to the needs of the City; and WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 2000-09 provides that all City-owned property that has been declared surplus cannot be disposed of prior to the preparation and formal approval of a resolution by the City Commission. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF AVENTURA, FLORIDA, THAT: Section 1. Recitals Adopted. The above recitals are hereby confirmed and adopted herein. Section 2. The property listed on Exhibit "A" has been declared surplus and is hereby approved for disposal. Section 3. The City Manager is authorized to dispose of the property listed on Exhibit "A" through a public auction, sale, trade-in, transfer to other governmental agency or, if of no value, discarded. Section 4. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all things necessary to carry out the aims of this Resolution. Section 5. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption. The foregoing Resolution was offered by Commissioner Weinberg, who moved its adoption.
