I. Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at 3:00 p.m. by Mr. Evans.

II. Public Comment: None.
III. Approval of Minutes: A motion to approve the minutes of the November 12,
2015 meeting was offered by Ms. Kaplan, seconded by Ms. Lotterman, and
unanimously passed.
IV. Staff Reports: Mr. Sherman reported on the following items: Shuttle Bus
Ridership, Winter Camp, Boys Soccer, Girls Soccer, Basketball, Movie Nights, and
Senior Trips.
V. Discussion and Input:
• City Special Events Schedule: Mr. Sherman distributed and reviewed the
2016 City of Aventura Special Event Schedule. He discussed plans for the Arts, Crafts
and All That Jazz Event scheduled for March 12th, featuring a young artist showcase,
jazz artist Nestor Torres, and a green market at Founders Park. Mr. Soroka noted that
based on the results, it may become an annual event. Mr. Sherman noted that the date
of Earth Day/Arbor Day in April was still being determined. Additionally, a movie had not
been selected for the May 7th Movie Night.
• Go Green 2016 Program: Mr. Sherman requested approval for the "Go
Green" Recognition Program Application, to be mailed to 143 residences. Board
members will email Mr. Sherman with any updates for the mailings. He noted that the

deadline for submittals is February 26, 2016. It was the consensus of the Board to
proceed with the application, as provided.
• Movie Night Survey Results: Mr. Sherman reviewed the results of the
survey, which 64 people responded to. It was the consensus of the Board to have the
May 7th Movie Night at the Aventura Arts & Cultural Center.
The next meeting was scheduled for March 3, 2016 at 3:00 p.m.
VI. Adjournment: There being no further business to come before the Board, a
motion to adjourn was offered by Ms. Aloni, seconded by Dr. Marks, and unanimously
passed; thereby adjourning the meeting at 3:21 p.m.
