The builder arranged for the garage door mfr. to provide venting in the bottom panel equivalent to approx. 800 square inches of opening as per the mfr specs. Based on a maximum garage area of 644sf, it is our opinion that this more than adequately satisfies section 30 -167 of the Aventura City Code and FEMA Bulletin 1 -93 requiring P' of opening per square foot of enclosed area. We certify that this system as installed will automatically allow the inflow and outflow of floodwater equalizing hydrostatic flood forces on the exterior walls up to and including the base (100 year) flood.
