09-09-2009 A~ ,8 ''''or,''''''' MINUTES ARTS AND CULTURAL CENTER ADVISORY BOARD MEETING September 9, 2009 - 10:30 a.m. Aventura Government Center 19200 W. Country Club Drive Aventura, Florida 33180 I. Call to Order/Roll Call: The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Gloria Muroff. II. Members present: Amit Bloom Barbara Brodsky Gloria Muroff Dr. Jules Oaklander Ibis Romero Lenore Toby Simmons Members absent: Daniel Andai Nancy Gillen Doyle Judy Scott Lotwin As a quorum was determined to be present, the meeting commenced. II. Approval of Minutes: A motion to approve the July 13, 2009 meeting minutes was offered by Ms. Bloom, seconded by Dr. Oaklander and unanimously passed. III. PACA Reports. Shelley Bradshaw introduced newly-appointed Director Steven Clark and he discussed his background, expertise and duties, and answered questions of members. Ms. Bradshaw and Mr. Clark presented a powerpoint presentation regarding summer programming and a draft budget for the performance of Avi Hoffman as a soft-opening act at the AACC. They further discussed proposed summer camp at the facility. Board members requested they be provided a fundraising budget at the next meeting. IV. City Manaaer Reports: Mr. Soroka provided an update on the status of construction of the facility. He proposed a topping-off event for December/January. Board members suggested that a PR employee be hired immediately and recommended Charlie Cinnamon. Ms. Bradshaw and Mr. Soroka requested that each Board member provide the names and contact numbers for ten individuals they would like to be included in the topping-off reception. V. Other Business: Next Board meeting scheduled for Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. VI. Adiournment: There being no further business to come before the Board at this time, after motion made, seconded and unanimously passed, the meeting adjourned.
