Florida 33 180 1. CALL TO ORDER/ROLL CALL: The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. Present were members Julie Greenberg Shapiro, Rica Tickner, Marina Blachman, Blanca Lopez and Jackie Perczek. Also present were City Manager Eric M. Soroka, Principal Julie Aim, and Vice Principal Daniel Sandberg. Quorum was determined and the meeting commenced. 2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Marina Blachman moved to approve the minutes of the November 3, 2008 School Advisory Committee meetings. Jackie Perczek seconded the motion and it was unanimously approved. 3. CITY MANAGER'S REPORT Mr. Soroka reported on the following items: A. The classroom addition project B. Enrollment C. School funding issues. 4. SCHOOL ADMINISTRATION REPORT: The School Administration Report is attached. 5. FUND RAISING REPORTS: The following reports were discussed at the meeting: . December 08 and 09 - 3rd Grade Surfside Safari- canoeing (Birch State Park) . Parrot Jungle - 1 st grade . Limo Ride for Class Winners of the Fall Fundraiser Athletics . ACES Middle School Boys Basketball Team finished with an 8-4 record including the playoff win against Hollywood Academy. . ACES Middle School Girls Basketball Team lost in the semifinals but had a phenomenal season. Charitable Projects: . ACES Thanksgiving Food Drive combined efforts with the City of Aventura's Police Department. . ACES Holiday Toy Drive benefited JAFCO. · Jump Rope for Heart .
